Liposuction and liposculpture
Liposuction is the surgical removal of excess fat (deep layer) using cannulas that can be performed in several body regions (abdomen, waist, back, arms, inner and outer thighs, knees, face, neck).
When a part of this removed fat is used to fill in body areas with depression or to enlarge certain regions (such as the buttocks), then the procedure is called liposculpture.
It can be performed under general, peridural, spinal or local anesthesia with sedation, depending on the body region.
