Ex-obese patients

The number of ex-obese patients cases has gradually grown due to a rise in surgeries for morbid obesity, a treatment that improves patients' health and quality of life. However, in several cases the weight loss generates a great amount of excess skin and flaccidity, which increases the demand for plastic surgery. In the last few years, plastic surgeons have developed new techniques to treat these patients. The flaccidity normally occurs on the abdominal region, dorsal region, breasts, arms and thighs. The surgery must only be scheduled after the patient's weight stabilizes, which happens between 12 and 18 months after bariatric surgery.
