The surgery (thigh dermolipectomy) is performed in patients with excess skin (flaccidity) on the internal side of the thighs. However, when there is only excess fat with no flaccidity on the area, liposuction is the ideal treatment. The patient is normally under peridural or spinal anesthesia with sedation.
